Really? It’s Memorial Day Weekend already? WOW! Where did all the time go? Better yet, what are YOU doing this holiday weekend? Traveling? Seeing the Summer blockbuster movies with the family? Picnics and barbecues with friends? As it’s the kick off to Summer, why not start with sprucing up your back yard, patio, or other outdoor space and hit those lucrative Memorial Day Weekend sales? Seriously! Board your Sale Boat before ALL the good stuff has left port! Here’s just a few!
Over at DWR (Design Within Reach), they’ve kicked off the weekend with a great outdoor sale where you can save 15% off of “modern solutions for outdoor living”, which, when you consider their price-point, ain’t too bad! Years ago I owned several of their outdoor pieces, specifically the Philippe Starck ‘Bubble Club’ couch and love seat, two very well made items by Kartell, from a dense plastic resin, designed to look like a classic piece of furniture. Heck, I even had them in my living room at one time as primary seating just because they were so cool!
Over at the Crate & Barrel Outlet, they have a HUGE sale this weekend, with up to 70% off of merchandise for your picnics, barbecues or other outdoor entertaining experiences. Have you been there yet, either in person or online? These are AWESOME bargains, and all it takes is a few clicks to see what’s what with their goodies and deals! Having shopped both the brick-and-mortar store and the website, I have never been disappointed with great deals for home furnishings. From dishes to furniture to fabrics, you’ll find lots of great items to consider. What have you got to lose by simply checking them out? Go for it!
Then of course, there’s my favorite: Bo Concept and their TAX FREE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND SALE! WOOT WOOT!! How can you go wrong with such a deal? I mean, if you’re in Chicago, that’s 10% off! In Seattle, the same! YOU do the math! We all like things discounted, and good design and furnishings at a tax free price is a great deal! Mentally, we love to get a leg up on the government – or in this case, appear to by not paying sales tax. So the good folks at Bo Concept do their very best and give YOU that money back – you pay the ticket price, they handle the rest. And I bet if you visit them this weekend and pick up a few yummy decorative morsels, you’ll be back for seconds, and add this annual event to your calendar. Haha! I do!!
Not to be outdone, Crate & Barrel, the regular store, not the outlet, is featuring 15% off outdoor furniture AND free in-home local delivery! Just the latter part is worth it – delivery costs can range from $50 to several hundred! You find the right outdoor setting, decorate and dress it with the great pieces from Crate & Barrel, get 15% off, and have it delivered for free! If you ask me, I think that’s a no fuss, no muss scenario! I mean, c’mon! We all know they make great quality products, from furniture to accessories for every room, but to dress up your deck or patio in some really cool, weather durable items on sale and brought to you for no extra charge? Oh HELLA yeah! 
These are but a few examples of some of the AMAZING deals to be had, in store and online this long weekend. So while you’re out and about enjoy a few extra days off, take some time to research what’s on sale, where it is, and get Sale-ing away! AHOY!
