George B’s Basement
This was a wonderful and challenging project to tackle! There’s nothing like two years’ worth of accumulated basement junk to sort through, organize, and clean up! George has been so busy since he moved into his that he never really can find the time to sort through the boxes in his basement. So, like any normal person, he let it pile up… and closed the door on it. To make matters worse, George has terrible back problems, so even when he could find the time, he just wasn’t up to the physical task.

A difficult space to rework; the dryer has to stay where it is because of the vent...
...but I replaced the folding table with a taller, sturdy, metal one and the space has better flow!
The storage shelf had so many things not related to laundry... so did the washer!
The inexpensive metal table ties the laundry space together; the outdoor rug color & fun!
We’ve all just thrown things in a room & shut the door; out of sight, out of mind!
Now it’s all gone; out of sight, literally! The items were donated to charity or properly disposed of.
Many of the bigger items were cleaned & put aside for a future yard sale.
3 large storage cabinets add extra storage for smaller items, and serve as utility pantries as well!
You can barely see the staircase with all the clutter, clothes and unsorted holiday items!
Once everything is cleaned and organized, even the cat’s have a better space to use!
Years worth of clutter, mess and junk...
...dealt with properly for a clean, tidy and organized space!
